Hats Sleep Anywhere
Hats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.
Open drawer, empty shoe, anybody's head will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! They don't care! Hats sleep anywhere.
(With apologies to poet Eleanor Farjeon for parody of “Cats Sleep Anywhere”!)
This is a few from my vast collection of hats, most of which were the ones rescued from my old primary school. They were originally my great granny's but were donated to the school as she had a very small head. However, luckily when we re-found them, they fitted! Happy doesn't begin to describe it...
The silk scarves were also inherited from the same relative. They're now stored in a lovely old leather hat box found in a charity shop.
The brown trilby is actually Christie's Of London. And the yellow scarf is Yves Saint Laurent, found completely by chance. Both very lucky charity shop finds!
The white brogues are unworn second hand, from ebay. They are my favourite shoes of the moment, pairing with my black pair of men's brogue's to match. The dress is another charity shop find - Topshop and such a lovely colour.
NOTE: I know I recieved some blog awards a few weeks ago.. I swear I will do a post on them at some point, I just wanted to get these pictures up here first! They will be coming soon.
